I made that name up, I'd like to know for on if you can switch out CPU's and keep going on your computer, say I have the 3570k in at the moment and I want to exit a video that needs a lot of speed, can I take my 8350 and plug it in, boot up again and go? My second question js wether or not the ATX Extreme6 Z77 motherboard is compatible with the AMD 8350. Thanks in advance!

If you attempt to install that chip, not only will it not work, but you could badly damage both the board and chip, and void the warranties in the process.

This board doesn't have the right socket. Any board that has Z77 in its name takes a specific type of Intel chips. It only takes i3/i5/i7 chips that fit the LGA 1155 socket.

The chip you selected is not even an intel, it's AMD. There are no boards that support both brands. Here's a link to some general info on your board.

Here's newegg's offerings for that socket. Once you've narrowed it down, post a new thread with a new selection and we'll double check it for you.
