New Graphics card (2 short beeps, 1 long beep) Problem

I bought a GTX 650 to replace the old ATI Radeon HD 4650. The computer boots up normally with the old card, but with the new card it beeps 3 times, 2 short beeps and 1 long beep.

The computer is a stock HP m9665pt.

Do I need to upgrade my PSU? If yes, please tell me how many watts are needed.

Looking forward to replies

More about graphics card short beeps long beep problem
  1. 1 Long then 2 Short beeps from your bios is indication of a Video error. It could be like you said, your PSU not supplying enough power for the new video card. For a GTX 650 they recommend a minimum 400 watt, if upgrading I would look for something that is 500 watts or greater.

Thank you for your answer, I already fixed this, I haven't noticed the 6 pin cable connector, it was somewhat hidden :P

I just installed the drivers and works very nicely :D
