thanks, i had seen some of those links but wasnt sure if there was anything newer. but i am goin with AverMedia Live gamer. i have 2 questions about that though. im getting a 2460x1440 resolution monitor which has to be done with dual dvi link, this would still record at 1080 with the hdmi coming off the capture card i hope?? and would i have both a ssd and hdd, the ssd is only 120 gigs with about 50 gigs of space open so i was thinking of doin it to the hdd, would that cause a lot of lag or big loss in performance??

The HDD will work better for larger files than the SSD. I have recorded live performances directly to an hdd without any loss in quality. I know that does not equate to game capture as game capture involves more fps. Experiment with a short clip and then a longer clip and see if it lags or you notice a difference in quality. I am interested in knowing the size of the files it creates and the type of file it creates.
