Hi, I am looking for a new hard-drive for a Dell Inspiron 1545. One was recently purchased off of amazon that was supposed to fit my model, however didn't because it didn't have the 4 prong (I can't think of the techincal term for it) connection on the side, and was blocked by a piece of thin metal instead. Thus it didn't fit.

The specs of the drive I'm looking for are a 2.5" SATA that will fit into a Inspiron 1545 laptop.

Also I am not 100% sure what size it needs to be. I am assuming 9.5mm or less..

I was hoping to get a recommendation on a good, cheap hard drive (preferably less than 70$)

or this one has better reviews...

I was thinking about that, but after reading user reviews I'm not so sure, would you people say it looks good for whatI'm looking for?

I just don't want to accidentally order another bad hard drive. I really need this laptop.

Any assistance would be awesome :) thanks guys!

I'm not sure what you're talking about. All 2.5" sata drives are made to the same specs with the only one that varies between then is the thickness of the drive.

What I think you have is that your current drive is mounted into a bracket and this bracket needs to be transferred over to the replacement drive. To get the bracket off typically means removing the four screws securing it to the drive (two on each side). You'll see the where the screw holes are when you examine the replacement drive.

I've already returned the drive. The connectors were not the same, it was obvious when looking at the two. I don't know if there was a mistake in shipping or if falsely advertised on amazon, but either way it was not correct. I appreciate the suggestion though. However I did remove the bracket and put it on my new one. Still didn't fit.

If you wouldn't mind as you seem to be knowledgable,

Is that a good drive? :)
Thank you!
