I now understand why AMD are backing Crysis 3; now everyone thinks they need CrossFire 7970s to max out the latest games at 1080p. Profit!!

Well quite! But they just argue (along with BS about "future-proofing"):

"But a single one only gets 42 FPS at Very High settings!"

I think for some people knowing that everything is on Very High rather than just High, is more important than any difference you're able to perceive in graphics quality.
