Is there any way I can be really really sure, or some bios hack to support more?

First of all, sorry for the late reply. And RAM is a physical thing. Hacking the BIOS won't increase the maximum RAM capacity. Besides, that much RAM will not matter, the CPU of a laptop will bottleneck it after a point anyways. 8 GB should be more than enough for ant laptop needs.

Do you really need to expand your RAM? 6 GB for a laptop is huge.
Most gaming PC's have 8+ GB RAM.

What is the model of your laptop and what is the reason for your RAM expansion decision?
There may be some other solutions. :)
