Hi,
I just moved to Italy and I have a phone that supposedly works by putting an Italian SIM card in it. The only thing is I have no idea how that works. Do I go to a store and buy a card and then go to a website to add minutes? When I go to a store do I have to choose the plan right there?

The only reason I ask here is because I don't speak Italian very well yet and know this will be very hard to figure out in a store here.

Thanks for your help... I hope this is an ok forum to ask.

Kadin

The best thing is to go to the store and ask that you need some one who understands English and rest you can handle hopefully.

By the way, you can get phones that can have 2 sims in them, if you travel a lot.

First of all search on Google about the Sim card service provider companies and their offers, plans then contact the companies through their contact detail which are available on the Service provider companies' web sites. It will help you for confirming the offers, plans and rates of that company.
If I would like to suggest you then I will suggest "Tsim". My friend from Indian uses the international Sim card from "Tsim" company. He is getting the desired service and he does not pay much amount for the bill.
