I am looking to build a new gaming computer that can run pretty much any game i throw it at on high setting's i would like to play games such as Battlefield 3, Skyrim, borderlands 2, Dayz, Bioshock infinite, crysis 3 and battlefield 4 when it comes out

Approximate Purchase Date: Sunday 7th of April.

Budget Range: £550-£650 Including shipping.

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, Films, surfing the web.

Are you buying a monitor: No i plan on using a monitor i already have; the resolution is 1920x1080 I also have a 900p monitor i can use.

Do you need to buy OS: No.
I have a new disk of windows 7 ultimate.

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Dabs.com, www.overclockers.co.uk, Amazon and aria.co.uk Preferably UK stores. PCpartpicker builds are fine.

Location: England.

Parts Preferences: Amd FX-6300 CPU or a fx-8350 for my GPU either one of these
Gtx 660, GTX 660 ti, Radeon 7870, Radeon 7950 or a XFX 7970. But tbh any GPU or CPU is fine.

Overclocking: Yes i will probably overclock the GPU and maybe the CPU if i have sufficient cooling or a after market CPU cooler but mainly a future thing as i dont plan on upgrading for a long time.

SLI or Crossfire: Yes In the future but not for a very long time so this isn't really a important factor right now.

Your Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080

Additional Comments: I would prefer a PC with good cooling for some overclocking in the future but i can always add extra case fans in the future. I also need a wifi adapter i don't mind what kind PCI or USB is fine. I quite like the zalman z11+ case.

Thanks.

Nice build , and a great gamer too

The only thing I would change would be the case .
The antec ONE gamer , Corsair 200R , HAF 912 , CM 431 , or even the Antec 302
All have better cooling and have front USB 3 ports[ if you buy the right HAF ]

If the OP wanted he could drop the psu to a 500 watt unit to help pay for the case upgrade

I really like that build but how about this one it's kind of the same but with a few changes.

The Gigabyte 990FX motherboard give you the option to add a second graphics card but if thats not important then the ASUS will perform and OC as well or better , and it has a better BIOS

Well i want this PC to last for a few years time and then be able to upgrade it when needed but then again by that time i would probably have to update the motherboard anyway. So what do you think on the rest of that build anything you recommend or think i should change?.

I added back the CPU cooler and changed the motherboard.

Most of the recent gamed is 18gb+ size in addition to movies, songs and software installer packages... so you REALLY need a big size HDD and the 500gb won't suffice you more than 1 year
My first build was sufficient to every need : Data storage, gaming, overclocking, video editing and heavy internet use and also was equal to the current build
It's your call but i prefer the first one

Why would you skimp on the Motherboard when you can just get a second hdd later?
April 7, 2013 3:52:51 AM

skimp !!!

The mobo is perfect for everything and top quality ... why do you want to spend a lot of money to buy a mobo that you won't use features it offers ?
you like to be ripped off ?
