hi everyone, i'm new here and i got a question to ask, but no one i know competent enough to answer it

i have a Toshiba l650d notebook with AMD turion II P530 (2.30GHz), and it is pretty weak cpu, its bottlenecking my, otherwise, decent conf (ddr3 ram, ati 5650).
Im wondering could i upgrade my weak p530 with something like AMD Phenom II X2 N660, or AMD Phenom II X4 N950. Both (n660 and n950) have the same socket as my current cpu, and should (?) probably work fine in my notebook.
Oh, and i should mention that my turion is 25 watt, and those are 35 watt, but i dont think (again, ?) that it should be a problem.

Thank you in advance

Hi,

I think that even with that TDP difference, It should run smoothly. In my old Inspiron I've changed P320 for N970 (the difference in TDP is the same), and It works stable and does not overheat. Well, It's a little warmer, but ~73 celsius on N970 is not bad, compared to ~60C on P320.
