Okay, first of all, i have absolutely no knowledge about hard drives. i just know that my current hard drive is very slow and old. :kaola:  .... and here this six year old hard drive is...

"Maxtor DiamondMax 10 6L080M0 80GB 7200 RPM 8MB Cache SATA 1.5Gb/s 3.5" Hard Drive -Bare Drive."

on a motherboard MSI A55M-P33

And please, I don't want the best because honestly i don't want to pay for it. I'm happy with anything above 100gb storage.

If you need any other specs (that i am unaware of me needing to say) i will be happy to tell you them :(  so help a noob out?

You have 80GB that transfers at SATA Rev. 1 speeds of 1.5 Gb/s. That's your problem right there.

I know you said you don't want the best (this isn't the BEST, trust me), but this is a hell of a good price for a really nice hard drive that should last you for a long time.
