I would lower on the i5. I think it's enough with lowest i5 that you can get, get a z77 from ASRock; you will be able to overclock the cpu which will give you a boost.

i5-config - you can take the HDD that you had in your config however I think 32MB buffer is better than 16MB or 8MB. I added also a Blu-ray player but you can take the on for 12£ and you will come close to 430£.

APU-config - here you have ssd+hdd.

The amd FX version is good however I would take the MC Force 500 as case.

i probably wont go with the APU, however the i5 you suggested actually seems really good. Is the £20 or whatever being spent on the CPU better being spent and getting a better graphics card.

what i mean is is it better to get AMD fx-6300 and radeon 7850 1gb OR Intel i5 3330 and radeon 7770 1gb
which in your opinion would have better gamin performance beacuse both can obviously run microsoft office fine :p

if your truly in for gaming, then the gpu has top propriety, then go with 7850, but if that's not the case the go for i5 and upgrade the gpu later. Many games are not optimized for more than 2 cores.

I personally would go for the i5-system; the cpu has "true" cores compared to the piledriver, where a module - consists if two cores, is more less like core. Benchmarks have shown that applications that can only utilize one core, do not perform well on the AMD FX cpu. So the intel cpu won't be a bottleneck even for application that only uses one core.

It might be different when Steamroller gets launched as many improvements have been made, and where each core is more like a "core" and not only a part of a core and where the cpu performs better in single core application.

The future games will be better optimized for multi-core processors; both next xbox and PS4 will feature an octa-core cpu.

You could also wait for haswell that has better iGPU and buy a gpu when the 700-series and HD8000-series come out from Nvidia respective AMD.

6300 is okey but I would not recommend 4300; it might even become a bottleneck for the gpu. The gpu is called Tahiti LE and many called it 7870 XT or similar.
