More about intel core duo e6300 intel pentium
  1. Upgrade to the Core 2 Duo, its far far better.
  2. ah...E6300 is definitely better than D805..
But before you upgrade anything...the Qs are more interesting e.g. Q6600, Q8200, etc.

Other option is to jump directly all the way to current AM3+ or LGA1155 platform.
  3. i suggest get pentium dual core like e5800,this is faster than many core 2 duos in games due to its 3.2ghz clockspeed
  4. for these cpu's i agree that clock matters, and that Pentium D is ... well i don't like them, too hot i hate it. and i dont even own one and i still don't like it.

upgrade, and then OC it to achieve better perf

    Great!

As I said, the Core 2 CPUs were a big advance in performance for Intel! :)
  7. The fastest of the Intel® Pentium® D processors was the Intel Pentium D 965 Extreme Edition 3.73GHz. When we released the Intel Core™ 2 Duo processors I was ready to buy a new system so I went looking for benchmarks to see how they stacked up. With my budget at the time I could pick up the Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 at 2.13GHz and I compared it against the Intel Pentium D 965 Extreme Edition here on Tom's they had 20 benchmarks and I was able to check them. Out of the 20 benchmarks the Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 won 16 of them and only lost by a small amount on the other 4.

So without a question upgrade to the Intel Core 2 Duo E6300. :D
  8. i used to own a e6300 (the old one, first core2's)
and months before upgrading to quad, i oc'ed from 1.86 to 3ghz :)
and it wasn't even the max, i just targeted 3ghz and stopped.
  9. THANK YOU ALL
