I am building a computer from a bare bones kit: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=7486651&CatId=31&SRCCODE=LINKSHARE&cm_mmc_o=-ddCjC1bELltzywCjC-d2CjCdwwp&AffiliateID=TnL5HPStwNw-pSPlBGVZUhJriE83os6Paw

I need to aquire seperatly from this kit: Graphics Card, Case Fans(There are factory stock but i want to replace those),Moniter, OS, Keyboard, and Mouse
I have some assistance from friends who have built a computer before, but i want to get as much of the research and data gathered on my own. So im going to start this thread and post questions as they arise.
O and as for use of said computer I want to run Minecraft, TF2, Feed The Beast, assorted other Minecraft mods, maybe a few other games from steam, but im not by any means a heavy gamer. I also hope to use it through college(University). I dont mind making upgrades throughout the years, but i would like to have a solid start.

Price of Kit=525$
Price I hope to spend is about= 800$-850$
Spending money=300$
That is my target price, but if I can get a good machine for a lower price i would love to.

Question
1. Graphics cards? (want to hit the 110$ range)
-Is this one good?-http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2941923&CatId=7387&SRCCODE=LINKSHARE&cm_mmc_o=-ddCjC1bELltzywCjC-d2CjCdwwp&AffiliateID=TnL5HPStwNw-AhCs172DG3YzZYPfgjs_WQ
-2nd choice http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4368409

EDIT: Things that I have decided:
-OS=Ubuntu
-Fans = Cougar CFV12H Vortex
-Key board+mouse= found an old pair in the attic = )
-monitor- ASUS VS228H-P 22"

Edit 2:I cant replace parts from the kit, that is kind of the point of the kit. But If you have a better kit post that link! (lookin at you Corelogik) = )

I'm no graphics card expert, so I can't really give you a good recommendation for question 1.

2. Logitech tends to sell decent keyboards and mice for good prices. If you plan on using it through college, you might want to consider getting an ergonomic keyboard.

3. I found a 20" monitor with DVI/VGA and built-in speakers from HannsG for $100. Don't remember the model number though. If you look on NewEgg or Amazon, or just google cheap monitors, you're likely to find something.

4. 8 is pretty much just 7, upgraded. I'd go with 8; if you don't like the new start screen, you can always just use the desktop anyway. Plus, 8 apparently has some performance upgrades.
