For the past few months, the screen on my laptop will turn on and then black out. I can see the display faintly if I squint or use a flashlight. It works perfectly fine with an external monitor so after doing some research, I came to the conclusion that I needed to replace the inverter.
I replaced the inverter (ordered a brand new one) and it the screen stayed on for about a minute longer until it blacked out again. Though sometimes if I plug in the external monitor for a few seconds then take it out, it will work for a few hours but this has only happened a couple of times.
What could the problem be? The laptop is a little over two years old and I can't afford afford to buy a new one until I graduate. And it's on maximum brightness too!
