No Sound and USB Problems after new build?

How do I test to see if my motherboard USB and Sound is working?

I just finished my new build with rampage 4 extreme and I can't get any sound, when I plug into my usb 3.0 I get nothing.

Did you make sure you plug in the case I/O plugs into the right place on the motherboard?
What are your computer specs?

Well I fixed one problem. The sound I went to device manager and changed the settings and now it's working. Not sure really what I did. The USB I think it may be the cable to my external hard drive hot the motherboard. So it looks like my problems are solved for now. Thanks though.
