Hello there,
I need to understand why coretemp shows a cpu temperature as low as 0 Celsius degrees and as high as 20.

motherboard and cpu are:
msi fm2-a75ia-e53
amd a6-5400K

I've just set the smart fan target to 50 degrees and the fan min speed to 25% and it is now pretty quiet I must say. initially, the fan would spin at full speed (according to bios hw monitor, it constantly spun at about 7000rpm.. insane)
according to MSI Control Center my temp stays around 46 degrees on idle with these settings.

I've just installed CoreTemp to monitor the cpu temp, you know, but it ranges from 0 to 20 degrees haha. no, I'm not on liquid nitrogen cooling, I'm using the stock heat sink. I think I could overclock this cpu to 6ghz and stay around 55 degrees lol no ok
there's obviously a problem here... do you know what that is about?

thanks for your reply. it seems now it shows the correct temperature. I shut the pc down then powered it on after a few hours and it's now working. but, should it display the wrong temps again, i'll follow your advice. thanks
