Hello

I am planning to build a desktop PC within a £650 budget and I would like to know what you guys think about the parts I've chosen. I am hoping that the information below will provide all the necessary information.

Approximate Purchase Date: Would like to place an order on Monday (15/04)
Budget Range: £650 After Shipping
System Usage from Most to Least Important:
Gaming, mostly World of Warcraft and some Web Design
Are you buying a monitor: Yes
Do you need to buy OS: No
Preferred Website(s) for Parts: www.overlockers.co.uk
Location: Salisbury, Wiltshire, England
Parts Preferences:
Razer Naga 2012 Edition Mouse is a must for me. I am quite strongly convinced to go for BenQ GW2250E Monitor as from what I've read - its as good as it gets for its price.
Overclocking: Maybe in the future, not a priority at the moment
Additional Comments: I would also like to to buy a decent keyboard, the one listed below (Cherry G80-3000) is the cheapest from the decent ones I found on overlockers.co.uk. If I had to save money somewhere though, I would start from keyboard and go for the cheaper one
And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: I've spent last 1,5 year browsing the internet via my Iphone, enough is enough :)

As you can see the budget is quite limited, especially considering that I want to buy a rather expensive mouse and keyboard and I am in need of a monitor. After deducting the three above mentioned parts, the actual budget drops drown to £430. I am however, opened to any suggestions, especially regarding monitor and keyboard. On a positive note, World of Warcraft is a dated game so hopefully the parts I've chosen are ok.

Thanks to this amazing forum I've been able to check other posts with similar budget range and I came up with a spec that should suit my needs. I would like to hear your opinion about it. Please keep in mind that this is my first build and my knowledge comes mostly from what I've read in the last few days and deduction (ATX motherboard will most likely require ATX case). After reading some of the reviews about the retailers I decided to go with overlockers.co.uk so all of the prices I am posting are from there.

Any suggestions, tips, recommendations are very welcomed. My biggest concern is not knowing if all of those parts are compatible. I am also a bit worried if the PSU is enough to hold it all together but I've noticed that its the most common choice in other topics with similar budget so I hope its all ok.

Thank you in advance for any comments.

Well, some things I would change would be:

Lose the keyboard and mouse. Those are just way to expensive. There are much better values out there. I would recommend something like the Logitech K520. While it is not designed for gaming, it does work well, and it is wireless.

I would also bump up the CPU to the 4300. The architecture is slightly redesigned and gives better performance. The price difference isn't that big.

I would also get into a single 4gb memory card. This will give you move expandability in the future.

With the money you would save on the keyboard and mouse, you should be able to afford to bump up the GPU. Get AT LEAST a 7850, but I would recommend a 7870.

Thank you for your suggestions

I will go for 4300 then as the price difference between 4100 is only £12.

I am willing to resign from a keyboard and buy a standard one, that would save me roughly £38 (50-12 for 4300). Mouse is a must for me though, I will really need those 12 side buttons.

Now the difference between my gfx and the cheapest 7850 on overlockers is £55.

I am willing to go above my budget for those £17 (55-38) but I would like to know thats its really worth it?

Or instead of a 7850 I could go for batuchka advice and buy 6300, as its £10 more than 4300 (£22 more than original plan with 4100) and go with standard 7770?

Whatever I do, 4300 + 7850, 6300 + 7770 or maybe even 6300 + 7850 if I find some extra cash, would that PSU I chosen still be enough?

Thanks again guys, really appreciate it.
