More about 125w processors 95w tdp motherboard
  1. It will not work running 125watt CPU on 95watt board. There is another version of the 1055T that is 95watt.

+1 125W CPU will not work on a 95W board.
  3. it is still running on my motherboard, does it give any bad effect to my motherboard?
  4. If its running OK keep an eye on the MB temps, my brother ran an unlocked Athlon x3 with 4 cores and L3 cache on a similar board and the board temps are high so he set it to a 3 core Phenom instead. I imagine running with 4 would shorten the boards life but I have no idea how much.
  5. Is it running at rated speed or is it down clocked as happens on so many boards?

    yes
  7. Just be careful with it, people have blown up boards doing stress testing with high wattage CPU's on 95 watt boards.

whether it can be safe if I use High Perfomance cooler to my casing or cpu?
  9. Won't shizz hit the fan if the processor goes to draw more than 95W?
  10. Most likely burned VRM's would be the end result. It is required wattage not the Cooling that will cause damage, the higher tdp the higher a wattage the CPU needs.

Exactly what I was getting at.
  12. Hmm i use a AMD phenom II x4 955be 125w on a 95w HP board it works fine, only thing is its underclocking it to 800mhz I notice the core temps stay around high 30s and low 40s C doing small stuff like browsing and browser games.

That is an extremely bad use of components, you're not doing the CPU justice, and the board is likely straining to even keep up...that P2 X4 should be running close to 3 GHz

I know, thats why im getting a new board to support the CPU. I got the pc from someone with that put the CPU in it. the pc is a HP a6700Z.
