Yesterday my seagate drive in an external enclosure fell about a foot off a small table. It worked initially atleast I was able to read stuff and copy from it. But then I tried writing some files and about 20 seconds in it says it could not find the specified device. I switched it off connected again and it said it found an unidentified device and was installing drivers for it. I Cant see the drive in my computer nor the device manager. The enclosure is fine I tried another hard drive in it, which worked as an external.

What possible element of the hard drive is damaged and can it be repaired?

Thank you!

PS I cannot connect it to a sata drive and check as this hard drive is from my malfunctioned computer which I'm not getting fixed anytime soon.

Seagate and any other manufactorer will tell you to RMA it. A HDD has alot of small sensitive parts unlike a SSD.
