Epson GT-10000 scanner - SCSI cable to USB

I am trying to connect an old Epson GT-10000 scanner to my laptop. The scanner uses an old SCSI cable, so I bought a USB adapter for it. However, as soon as I plug the adapter into the SCSI cable, the scanner turns off.

Can anyone help me please? Would be very much appreciated.

Could be an issue with the termination of the scanner or with the cable. Try a different brand of cable maybe, or get a new scanner, they are pretty cheap these days.

Louise, did you ever find a solution? I have the same scanner and have no way to connect it via USB.
