Witch is the better graphics card

Ok so here are my specs
AMD FX-4300 CPU - 3.8GHz
AMD970 Motherboard
4G DDR3 1600MHz RAM
500G Hard Disk
22x DVD-Burner
ATI HD7750 Graphics Card
500wt PSU
All for $580 but anyway I was wondering witch was the better card the amd 6950 or the amd7750
Ok so I thought the 7750 was the better card because of the numbers now befor you start hating on me this is my first experience with pc gaming so I need some help oh and if I getting riped of for this pc for 580 please tell me thanks and like a said no hate for my lack of knowledge of pc

6950 beats 7750 any day of the week

the first number means "generation", sort of. 7 being the latest and 8 coming Q3 this year.

and the 2nd numbers show how "powerful" the card is.

x6xx cards ; pretty weak
x7xx cards ; budget/entry level
x8xx cards : performance
x9xx cards ; high end

and the last 2 numbers mean, higher they are, faster the card ( 50<70 )

The AMD´s graphic card nomenclature is a bit misleading -- an HD 6950 is a lot better than an HD 7750.
