Would 1600x900 be good for a 20" computer monitor?

I would use the monitor for gaming I'm comparing it to full HD 1800p would it make much of a differnce?

Yes, it will make an obvious difference in resolution. But at 20", you probably won't have an issue unless you were to compare a 1080p right next to it. 1600x900 is still quite nice for gaming on a smaller screen. And it will be less demanding on the graphic card than a 1920x1080.
