Developer having a tough time picking a laptop

I am a University student and I need a new laptop.

Things I like to have going:

Word documents, excel sheets
Photoshop (nothing too huge)
Dragon Dictation (this is very heavy software and takes a lot of CPU and memory)
VLC Videos
BitTorrent
Audacity sound editing

Size is really not an issue, I would like a good battery life, but the priority is to be able to do the above tasks. I will not be playing games on this laptop.
