What do you use to Benchmark?

Hi All,

I've got a real frankenbeast of a machine built from years of not knowing what i'm doing and being cheap.

what can I use to benchmark my machine for both performance and to check the internals?

I am concerned that I think the temp of the graphics cards is 80degrees, think I got that from bios.

there is no space between the 2 cards on the board so they might be choking each other, i'd be interested to work out what temp the rest of the case is

I'll add more info when I get in and can look at the beast itself, I don't seem to be able to add links or photos yet to this forum..

AMD CPU - would this mean I use CCC or catalyst vision engine for the graphic cards?
phenom x4 core cpu
I have 2 crossfire 4870's , motherboard is an
asrock.com/mb/amd/alivexfire-esata2/
5gig ddr 2 6400 , 2 gig, 2 gig, 1 gig, 1/2 gig slots

Here's what I use.

CPU
Stress test - Prime 95
Monitoring software - Coretemp, CPU-Z
I don't bother benching it.

GPU
Stress test - Furmark
Monitoring and Overclocking software - MSI Afterburner

Graphical benchmarking - 3DMark 11
In game benchmarking - FRAPS

Storage
Monitoring software - Crystal Disk Info
Benching sofftare - Crystal Disk Mark

Laying it all out like this you realize theirs a fair bit of software

blimey, that's a handful!

i'll go with FRAPS and CPU_Z to start with I think, that should cover the 2 main parts. I just kinda want to make sure everything is performing as expected and identify and major bottlenecks or other such issues

I also read sisoft Sandra is worth a go, have you had any experience with her?
