Should I upgrade my CPU or GPU first?

I just got an old media pc which seems to run some games quite well on low (such as Battlefield 3) and I would like to upgrade it to more of a gaming pc. At the moment it has a 2.4 GHz Pentium cpu and an 8800GT graphics card. So far I've settled on getting a GTX 660 graphics card and a 3.33GHz Intel Core 2 Duo E8600 CPU. I was just wondering, what do you think I should get first gaming wise? Thanks.

To be honest in the long run the smarter move would be investing on a more current/powerful platform especially for resource hungry tasks like gaming
