In about a week I will have finally saved up enough money for a decent gaming rig. In the mean time I have been doing a lot of research on the components I intend to buy. However, being new to building PCs I thought I would post the components on the forum in hopes to receive some feedback. Feedback such as possible compatibility problems or whether you think any part has the potential to "bottleneck" my build. Also, any recommendations to swap one part for another similar in price would also be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

everything looks great on there, but do you plan on overclocking? if so you should look into a aftermarket heatsink + fan, if not i don't see anything on there stopping you from having a good gaming pc

I probably will do some overclocking later on. Do you have any suggestions on a brand of heatsink + fan to look into?

Yeah I know little to nothing about overclocking yet but its something I am very interested in learning how to do and will probably eventually get around to doing. With that being said, this is something great to go ahead and add to my list of parts to order as soon as I save up the money. Thanks for sharing! Oh, one more thing. What are your views on SSDs? I know they are expensive but do you think it is worth purchasing one somewhere down the road?

yea once you start overclocking and you get into that mode where you are trying to get every ounce of performance out of your computer that you can by buying a new piece of hardware or two is when you would really need one. Otherwise you wont really notice. and if you were like me (i went from a p4 to my build 2 years ago and i was so enthralled it was amazing) lol. Once or if you do buy a ssd, make it you OS drive then your mechanical hd your storage.

oh one other thing, the motherboard you chose has uefi bios, (you get to use a mouse and its all pretty) so it might help you learn a little better on how to overclock. it also has a built in optimizer if you want to, and it will put a safe overclock on the computer so you don't have to think about it and you get that little extra oomph outa your cpu.

no problem, just remember don't rush putting it together, make sure you statically discharge yourself, dont use too much thermal grease, remember the standoffs for your mobo in the computer case, airflow is always a factor so try to route cables out of the way. double, tripple, quadrouple check your work with the instructions to make sure, you dont want a paperweight because something was plugged in wrong, and finally have fun doing it
