New graphic card, will my psu be able to handle it?

So I just got a new graphic card.
And well perhaps stupid of me, but just realised my psu might not be able to handle it. (I have not recieved the card yet, but will within two days)

The card in question is as follow:
EVGA GeForce GTX 680 SC+ w/Backplate
P/N: 02G-P4-2684-KR

My rig otherwise:
Motherboard Asus sabertooth 990fx (revision 1)
Cpu: Amd Phenom II x4 945, deneb family
Ram: 8Gb 2*4 Kingston 2x4 Micron
Psu: XFX Pro Series 650W
Harddrive: Crucial M4-CT 128Gb Sata // Samsung 500Gb Sata

So if the psu is under demensioned I will simply have to wait with installing the above card and will probably get a new case as well.

Happily waiting for answers. :)

More about graphic card psu handle
  1. why the heck would you get a 680? the 670 costs 100 dollars less, performs the same, and overclocks the same. id return it if you wont be charged a return fee

not to mention, your phenom chip will bottleneck it like crazy. you will need something like a fx 8320 and overclock that to prevent bottlenecks

and for a answer to your question, you have more than enough wattage
  2. According to Newegg's power calculator you should be fine with a 650 W PSU.

I bought that card, for the simple reason I got that advice it would be a good card to buy.
And was never given the advice for a 670 that I can recall to be honest.

Thats the gist of it and it wouldn't be that bright to return it at this point.

But thanks for letting me know :)
  4. upgrade your cpu. you will need it. the 945 is a bottleneck
  5. Well so far I have been quite satiesfied with it, and can't say I have noticed any issues with it.
But will save up for a new cpu and perhaps motherboard and case.
Will see when I end up with enough money. :)
  6. the board is fine. just update the bios to use a new fx chip.
  7. Would you recommend any particular FX then?
  8. id generally get intel but since you already have a 990fx board, id get a fx 8320 and overclock it
