USB 3.0 HDD vs Internal SATA 3 Drive for computer system?

Hi all,
Would it be okay to use a USB 3.0 external hard drive as the only hard drive in a computer? They seem to be cheaper and I was just wondering what the difference was compared to a SATA 3 HDD?
Thanks.

According to this graphs : http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?p=2544394
they are almost equal - if you compare the same HDD

I prefer to use the SATA 3 connection ....
You can prevent you self from plug-off the USB drive till you work and have BSOD ...... after 60 sec. :)

But if you up to it use the new Windows To GO advantage : http://technet.microsoft.com/library/hh831833.aspx#BKMK_wtgroam

It also work on USB 2 ; 3 External HDD
