Hey all,

Amazon has a great deal on this card right now, and seeing as my fan failed on my HD 4650 I'm WAAAY due for an upgrade, especially with my my old 4650 not supporting DX11 (wah wah wahhhhh). Tried Bioshock Infinite and my GPU was running at about 117 Celcius, so yeah, time to not do that ever again.

The reviews are hit or miss on this card, so I was hoping someone here would have some insight on if it's a good buy or not. Here's the deal:

$169.99 (Was $199.99)
+ a $15 Mail-In Rebate
+ You get Bioshock Infinite, Tomb Raider and Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, for free.

I figured for $155.99 that's a steal and from what i've seen in comparisons, it benchmarks very well at stock speeds (even though I plan on doing an OC).

Any opinions on the card? Alternatives for better performance at this price point?

Thanks everyone!!

At the price point that card is going to be hard to beat, Im not a huge fan of 1gb but its a good card for the price and it will overclock well.

Even after the rebate on the 660, it's still $30 more than the 7850, and I don't get Bioshock, Tomb Raider, and Far Cry 3....

I'm not picky about brands, but for the performance comparison + the awesome freebies, it just doesn't seem like a viable cost difference... :\

Thanks for the suggestion tho :)

never mind its a stand alone dlc so you can play it without far cry 3. Well the difference aswell is that the gtx 660 i like 10-15 frames faster and also has 2gb gddr5.

Ah, I should have mentioned I already have Far Cry 3, and I would be getting the expansion ^^

Aside from that, I ran a side/side comparison of the 2 cards at GPUreview.com and from what I saw the only 2 benefits for the 2GB 660 over the HD 7850 was that the 660 had a higher Texture Fill Rate (Expected) and that it also had a higher Memory Clock (Also expected). Since I'm already planning on OCing the 7850, it kinda makes it moot I guess....

I've always gravitated to Radeons'....No idea why....They're Shiny? Who knows...

660 is better even in most of the amd favoured games. But it smites 7850 at some Nvidia favourized. Oh and have you seen 660s offering Metro: Last Night?

For shining you can check 660 msi twin frozr. Its made out of metal and if you turn it right you can make it shine. Or just take some good plastic... I might have took this shinynes too serious...

LOL You guys are nuts!

Honestly for all I do, I'm just looking for smooth gaming/high FPS @ max settings... (Bioshock/Crysis/Far Cry...etc)

Oh, and it has to look sexy in my case...Don't have the plexi-panel and LED lighting for nothing ;)

BTW nothing (I mean nothing) gets high fps at maxed crysis 3.

If you want to spend 2k for titan sli to run crysis 3 then just go ahead.

Oh and I would put pamela anderson up there but I would be banned/muted.

Lol yeah a little off course. I think I'm going to stick with the 7850... I get good freebies and decent bang for the buck.

What can I expect in crysis 3 FPS wise with the 7850 and a basic OC?
