What to upgrade on my current build?

I built my pc roughly 2 years ago and I'm looking to upgrade it. My current build is as follows:

AMD Phenom II X6 1100T Processor @3.30 GHz (not confident with over-clocking)
Asus Crosshair Formula IV
Radeon HD 6950 2Gb GDDR5
16GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 @1600MHz
2x Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200
Cosair TX850 - 850 watt
Antec 1200 Full Tower

So that's my system, I'm looking to upgrade it with a focus on gaming without doing a radical overhaul. My budget is £300 - £400. Any suggestions?

how much do you want to spend, because that''s probably as good as it needs to be for most games. Maybe replace the x6 with a FX 8350 or i5-3470

Are the AM3+ cpus compatible with the motherboard I've got? Seeing as it's an AM3 socket I wasn't to sure

As for my case it's an Antec 1200. The power supply is a Cosair TX850

meh. save your shillings. in another year, you'll be ready to buy a full system that will really step up from that one.
