Hey guys—don’t know too much about computers and hoping for a little help. Am looking to get into PC gaming and was offered this computer for $1050. Looks worth it to me, but I don’t really know what I’m talking about. They guy said he was pricing it low cause he needed the money ASAP and this was as low as he could go.

CPU: i7 3770
GPU: PNY 2gb 660TI
HDD: 1X 256gb SSD, 1X 500gb 7200rpm, 1X 1tb 7200rpm
Memory: 8gb 1600
Motherboard: unknown (was a business PC originally, so probably basic)
Case: HP workstation case
PSU: Corsair 500w
OS: Windows 8 Pro

Computer was rebuilt in October of last year from a HP enterprise workstation. Case and motherboard are from that computer, the rest was new in Oct.

Am going to go take a look at it tonight. What do you guys think? Worth the price if it looks in good condition?

It's an "i7-3770K" but close enough ;)

As for pricing...lets take a look at the cost of building t yourself:
i7-3770K= $330
PNY GTX 660 Ti= $280
256GB SSD= ~$220
2 HDDs= ~180
8GB 1600MHz RAM= ~$65
Motherboard= Well...if it's a workstation motherboard...I honestly have no idea lets go with ~$150
HP Workstation Case= Umm...probably obscenely overpriced :D
Corsair 500W= $70
Windows 8 Pro= $140
So based off of these numbers the best estimate I can pull is that the cost of this not including the case is $1,435. I think you're getting a decent deal probably then. :)

Update: I would recommend heading over to ClassicShell so that you don't have to deal with Windows 8 :)

Sounds good--thanks.

One thing though, the guy was clear it was an i7 3770, NOT a 3770k. Is there a meaningful difference? I only mention it because he did.
