Lo there, as title says Im looking for feedback on a couple of systems I have priced up. I'm based in the UK

INTEL
CPU: i5 3570K + Loki Cooler
Motherboard: z77x-D3H
RAM: 8GB Vengeance 1600mhz
GPU: Radeon HD 7950
PSU: 650w Corsair VS
£792

AMD
CPU: FX 8350 + Loki Cooler
Motherboard: 990XA UD3
RAM: 8GB Vengeance 1600mhz
GPU: Radeon HD 7950
PSU: 650w Corsair VS
£777

Would like to spend as little as possible (don't we all!), but want to squeeze as much performance as i can out of the rig. im not looking to overclock (never done it before). Would prefer to use the i5 3570 but not an option from the online shop and it's on the cheapest place i've found.

Games used would be Planetside 2/Guild Wars 2/FC 3/BF 3

Ideally would like the comp to last a while whilst keeping graphics to at least a high setting (doesn't have to be max, just pretty enough), i know i may be waisting money on purchasing overclockable items if i'm not going to overclock them, so any feedback, critcisms or more money efficient parts would be welcome

Thanks in advance for all your input

well, since you aren't overclocking a 3470 or 3350p would make more sense. The 8 core is only really competitive(in anything other than threaded load) when overclocked. So Intel build, with any of the above, no need for cooler.

if i go for the 3470/3350, would it be better to get a cheaper mobo and spend the rest on a better GPU? What sort of FPS and settings will I look at getting to the above games?

sorry for yet more questions (and thanks for the repsonse so far), but with the current prices of AMD parts generally being cheaper, what are the advantages of an i5 3470 with an approx. £100 mobo and HD 7850 gfx vs an AMD FX 8350 with again an approx. £100 mobo and use the extra funds for a HD 7870? again no overclocking yet but will it be cheaper in future to just to buy cooling items and overclock the AMD machine, rather than buy new hardware to upgrade the Intel machine in say a year or two?

The AMD is a cheaper option, but has performance equivalent to the i5. Meaning,if you overclock it you still won't be in i7 territory, for anything other than progs that use 8 cores.
However, if the priority is gaming, the more cores and better graphics configuration are an advantage.
