I am a first time builder and am not quite sure which parts to purchase. My budget is 1400$ (with a little leeway). Peripherals are not a concern.

Really just a variety of games and playing music from a sound system. I am interested in upgrading as time goes on. I'm not sure what else to put.

The build I listed will pretty much play any game on close to the highest settings as 1920x1080. As far as upgradability, you can always add more RAM and another video card down the road.
