So I'm upgrading my 19" to something newer, preferably a 1080p monitor. But there are very few that run at 75hz that meet my requirements. And the Hz will determine the maximum FPS...60hz=60fps and 75hz=75fps...My question is: Will i see/or is there a noticeable different between a 1920x1080 @60hz vs 1440x900 @75hz? Which type should I go for?

Solution
1080p is going to look so much better than 900p that I recommend it even at the lower refresh rate.

That being said, like Airm3n said, 120Hz is extremely sexy. Sadly, the truly GOOD 120Hz monitors start at $400 or so.

I'd go with the 1920x1080 @ 60hz rather than the 1440x900 @ 75hz. Should look a fair bit sharper at the higher resolution. Going to 120hz would be better and you'd probably notice a big jump there at least I did going from 1920x1080 @ 60hz to 1920x1080 @ 144hz.

Get a Samsung Syncmaster SA550. 1080p, 60Hz, 2ms. It's actually got a good refresh rate. There is a LOAD of crappy screens out there that claim to be 2ms but the truth is they have horrible ghosting/blurr. I was about to give up looking and buy a crappy Asus one until someone told me about Samsung Syncmaster, I'm so glad I got it now.
