~CPU/Cooler/Motherboard - I've read that this is a good combo but do you guys think it will fit in the 550D case? (mainly the cooler)
~Memory
-Ram is LP to fit under cpu cooler
-60GB for OS
-240GB for music software/sounds and some games
-1.5TB everything else
~Power supply - Overkill?. I'm not sure how much if any extra power is pulled while overclocking.
~OS - Should I go for window's 8? I am happy with 7 but are there any major benefits with 8. I do plan on getting a windows phone later this year, not sure if there is any new interconnectivity that you can't have in windows 7.

- Get a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO. It'll fit.
- DOMINATOR RAM is very expensive. Almost unnecessarily so. It performs the same as the Vengeance series.
- GTX 670 is $100 cheaper and can handle on par with GTX 680. And Radeon HD 7970 beats them both.
- PSU is overkill.
- Windows 7 is better. I fail to see any benefits in Windows 8. The UI was designed for tablets. For desktop, it's just not fluid. The Windows 8 UI on tablets is still not the best.

Thanks for the response.
- how does the Cooler Master perform compared to the Noctua? I've heard the 3770k gets very hot. I could always bump up the case to the 600t, but I just like the looks and size of the 550D.
-my thinking with the 4gb 680 spend a little more now on it now so in few years from now when prices drop i could SLI with 2x4GB and sit comfortable on VRAM for a while. ?Good idea? or are they so comparable that it wouldn't matter
-For the PSU how low would you go? 750?

- Noctua NH-D14 is better but more expensive.
- GTX 680 isn't worth its price. Go for Radeon HD 7970 or 7970 GHz. 7970 has 3 GB of VRAM for better hi-res performance. 7970 GHz beats GTX 670 and GTX 680 and it's cheaper.
- 500W, but if you plan to Crossfire, 850W.
