Restoring from an Incremental Backup

How would you restore all your data (say your hard drive failed) from an incremental backup since there are multiple "backups" from different time periods. Or is this not the way to backup your hard drive?

You start with the most recent full backup, then restore each incremental in order. The important thing here is that you restore ALL of the incrementals taken after the last full backup, in time/date order, oldest to most recent, without skipping or restoring out of order.
