Hi. So I just bought a new case and transferred all my components and everything went well. I plugged some devices into my front USB ports, now they are dead. The reason was because I plugged the USB header into the IEEE 1394 port. I read that 1394 uses 12 volts and USB uses 5 volts. So apparently I'm ******. Please kill me now.

OK. So the devices that fried were a WD 2TB external harddrive and a $120 8gb MP4 player. I lost the MP4 player which sux, but managed to save the hard drive. I just opened it up, unscrewed the front I/O usb/power board, then just installed it as another hard drive in my computer. A little set back but just made me realize to stop and think before rushing ahead. Atleast I got all my pictures, videos back : )
