When will the new fixed Haswell motherboards be released??

Will the manufactures recall all the C1 motherboards or will they just not put them on the market ??

Will the manufacturers go straight with C2 shipment ??

Thanks for any reply's !!

A fix has been issued.

It is unlikely manufacturers will revamp their 1st batch of motherboards since the issue only affects a specific "subset of USB SuperSpeed thumb drives". If you rely an using USB SuperSpeed thumb drives, then I suppose you should look for a C2 motherboard, otherwise it is not a big deal.

Probably after all the C1 stock is cleared, which will probably be quite a bit initially. Wait 3 months to be safe.

You might want to do a little digging because it issue is with not will all super thumb drives, but specific models. Of course to play it safe you might want to a little while before upgrading to Haswell.

Just so that you are aware... Depending on the method used to sell inventory it might be better to either buy immediately or wait before buying. There are two methods that is used in the US called LIFO (Last In First Out) and FIFO (First In First Out).

FIFO is the easiest to understand... Basically whatever motherboards the retailer buys from Asus are the 1st ones that shipped out. So the C1 motherboards are the first to leave the warehouse. This is why people tell you to wait before buying.

LIFO is the opposite. Think of the inventory like a pile of boxes (which they are 'cause mobos come in boxes, ha ha!!). The warehouse gets the 1st shipment of C1 mobos from Asus. Then Asus stops producing C1 mobos and are now shipping C2 mobos. The warehouse piles these new mobo boxes on top of the C1 mobo boxes. When Haswell is finally available for sale, the guys at the warehouse can do two things....

1. Pull a mobo box (C1) from the bottom of the pile and hope that huge pile does not topple on to the worker, get crushed and die... Death by motherboard...

2. Pick a mobo box from the top of the pile (C2) and need not fear being the butt of a joke at the worker's own funeral...
