What is the best gaming CPU under $200?

What is the best CPU I could get for $200 if I'm using it for mostly gaming. Also if you could link a good motherboard that would be great

AMD all the way. They perform well under games because most games don't use the CPU and prefer the GPU. There are some games that rely on CPU power but they are in the minority. If you are planning on FPS games I would go AMD because it is cheap.

I'm buying a FX6300 for a budget build Im doing, its pretty cheap and has more than enough power to run anything you trow at it.

Check the PC Gamer review and Tek syndicate.

And yeah.. the whole AMD is not "good" for videogames its kinda dumb IMO, most of the workload is in the GPU anyway haha. My main PC is a 8350, I have usually between +80-100 fps in starcraft 2 1v1 matches... so whatever.

just buy a good GPU.
