looking to update my graphics card

looking to update my Nvidia 8800 GTS card as its a few years old now, currently running on Core 2 Quad 2.4ghz 4gb DDR3

any suggestion as to what would be suitable or is this the limit i can go with the specs i have.

I'm not sure from where you are, though the best that you can get for your specs would be an HD 6670 or if you can push your money you can go with HD 7750, but the best would be 6670 cause 7750 will be restricted with the things that it can do for your specs.

Ideally you'd upgrade your CPU as well as your GPU.

Furthermore you'd also state which games you'd like to play and on which settings. . .

You could easily go up to an hd 7770 without any bottlenecks with the cpu.

thank you guys i have successfully upgraded the graphics card to HD 6670 worked a treat i have also installed a blu-ray drive also however i now have no audio i have installed k-lite codec still no joy, i have no sound card its built into the motherboard, will i need to buy one to resolve my problem?

Just look for any updates on your sound driver. Whats your mobo's model?
