hi guys :p im building a pc soon but im very new to this :( my budget is about 16 000 rand . these are the things I have been looking the : the nzxt phantom 820 because its very nice looking , has lots of space and good cable management , and the LED's and fan controller are a bonus :D i don't know how much ram to get , i believe that 8gb is fine ? i looked at the sapphire vapour x hd 7970 ghz edition graphics card :) a ASUS M5A99X EVO 990GX AM3+ motherboard , AMD FX 8120 3.1GHz Eight Core Bulldozer CPU , an 800watt power supply , a nzxt havik 140 mm fan for cpu cooling , and 1tb hdd , please help me out ;) it will be much appreciated . thanks :) can you please give me advice on what you would choose ( like what chassis and all the components ) i really like the phantom 820 though:D

Your budget 1600$ ?
Nzxt switch810 not bad
Hd 7970 is good, non-oc version saves some cash,u can overclock urself.
If you want to buy a second card in future, choose the gtx670 = less microstutters
Fx8120 gaming not good, better get intel, xeon1230v2 if you dont want to overclock, otherwise i5-3570k.
500w psu is enough for singel gpu,
For 2xgtx670 650w is enough, pick a good quality brand, bronze or better gold certified

If budget were an issue *and* going AMD definitely Vishera over Bulldozer and i'd look at something like a FX-6300 and a humble 970 chipset motherboard else ya go i5 K / Z77 For a single 1080p forget about CF/SLI and a single HD 7970 GHZ is all you need - it is the only high end card under $800 considered as best buy by Toms for some months now

Hi keownarcher!

16,000 Rand is about 1,700 US$.

If you take a look at the site in my signature, that amount would be in the Enthusiast Tier, composed of very high-end computer parts.

What would be the main purpose of your PC - games, video editing, etc ?

Ah! Then games it is.

Going with the Enthusiast Tier will let you play all modern games at 1080p at high/highest detail with at least 60 fps (except probably Crysis 3).

I5-3570k > fx8350 overall better in terms of games.
Switch looks better for me, nice window and interior room.
As i said, 800w is too much.
600w is enough

What do you want to play on which resolution?
