Hi, I am opening a new office which will need three PC's and I was wondering if somehow I can use the same small business server in my other office (which is three miles away) or will i need to install a new server and then link them somehow? reason being is that the new office will need access to the information held and also email accounts on the original office server. Hope this makes sense and hope someone can help as I am trying to keep my costs down of opening another office.

What you are wanting to do is have shared access to a single server, which yes can be done. This is done by creating a site-to-site VPN tunnel which connects the networks of both offices together through the internet. The down side of this is performance. I'd only recommend this if you are working with very small files. Pulling large data constantly through your internet connection for your local employees is going to be exceedingly slow, so try and minimize the amount of traffic that has to go through your VPN. Setting up a VPN is usually best to purchase two firewall routers capable of site-to-site VPNs. You will also need at least one of your offices set up with a static IP address from your internet provider.
