SandyBridge BiosUpdate needed?

I have a MSI H61M-P31 (G3) Motherboard if I get a i3 'Sandy Bridge' CPU will I need to update my Bios because I know with this motherboard you have to update your bios with a Ivy Bridge but I'm not sure about Sandy Bridge, and no I don't have any spare cpu's that are compatible with my MB

No. All sandy bridge cpus should work. I use an i3 sandy bridge on my h61 asus board; I flashed the bios while running windows, but you have to be careful or you could end up with a dead board.
