what's the difference between seagate barracuda and pipeline?

All but the 1tb pipleine are 5900rpm drive, the 1tb is 7200rpm. Unlike the barracuse 1tb which is 4 platter & 8 heads the pipeline is a bit newer tech with 3 platters and 6 heads making it a bit quieter and less heat generating and a bit faster. Seagate has also incorporated other tweeks to quiet the drive since the pipeline is intended for DVR's but from the reviews I read a while ago - its not. Seagate also discourages using raid with these drives.
