Hello.

I have a Samsung RV515 notebook, which I have just recently taken back to factory settings. Unfortunately for me this has caused my brightness settings to return back to default, which isn't to my liking.

I have heard about drivers but I don't know anything at all about them, but this seems to be what most people tell me to install to fix my problem, as mentioned earlier in this sentence I don't know anything about drivers and wouldn't like to download something that could harm my computer or solve my problem.

What I am basically asking is there anyway to change the brightness on my laptop, I don't mind installing drivers to my laptop but I would like a link to a page that would fix my problem rather than telling me to search for a specific driver (which is what people on other forums seem to class as 'helpful').

Thankyou for any help that is given.

You are best served to go to Samsung's support site, entering your model number and downloading the driver from there. You'll need Quick Function or it will be called something like that. Download, install and it should provide funtionality to the rest of your function buttons.

Alternately, you can go into your Control Panel, Power Options and adjust brightness there.

Thankyou for the reply, what would the name be of the driver? (As I mentioned I don't know anything about drivers).

It's called Easy Display Manager

If that link doesn't work and bring up a download dialog, you'll have to keep reading:

Try this link:
http://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/product/NP-RV515-A01US#software It should take you to the Software downloads section for the RV515-A01
If that doesn't link straight to it, keep reading :)

Go to:
http://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/product/NP-RV515-A01US
Click on the Downloads tab, then Software (down and to the immediate left of where it says Downloads that you just clicked on).

There are 4 revisions of the 515, so I chose A01. I don't believe there will be a difference that would cause this to NOT work, but just in case it requires revision specific files, go here:
http://www.samsung.com/us/support/downloads
Enter RV515 and the menu will list the 4 revisions so you can pick the one you have. But like I said, I can't imagine this software not working because of a revision number, that's more likely for hardware drivers.
Good luck, let me know if it works.
