Hi all,

Simple question: is it worth me upgrading from my 660ti to a 670? Most games run on max but some don't (about 90% run on max) and I'm not a man who likes to compromise on game performance. Will i see better performance enough to justify the upgrade or will i be wasting my money?
Thanks in advance.

(side note: i wont be over clocking)

specs:660ti, i5 3570k

I second that, get a 670, however this isn't that great of an improvement for the money, but still there is improvement

I personally wouldn't do it. I would save more money so I could buy the 7970 or the 680. It's not worth the upgrade, in my opinion. But if you need one now, the 670 will be a bit better than the 660ti.

The HD 7970 is on the same price range as the GTX 670. And if OP needs CUDA, the HD 7970 would not provide it. Also, the GTX 680 is only marginally better than the GTX 670 for 125% in price. Not worth it.

The GTX 670 is a solid card.

If he is going to overclock, the 670 will be great. When it's overclocked it's better than a stock 680. 660ti is a solid card aswell. I just don't think that it is worth the upgrade.

What about just upgrading to a GTX 660 Ti BOOST then...?

Jokes aside, if you're willing to go SLI, then you'll get more performance, at a slightly higher cost.

Plus you'll rely on drivers being released, so that games will work for your SLI configuration.

Plus, when you need to upgrade again, you can merely add another BOOST card.

This will net you a performance increase substantial enough to surpass the GTX 680 I believe.

Generally, you're wasting your money if the next GPU you purchase isn't at least 3-5 "tiers" higher

Than your current GPU. Since Nvidia is releasing their new 700 series GPUs, you might see a slight price-drop.

Thus supposing you can wait for a while, a GTX 680 might become a little cheaper; even if only slightly.

So in conclusion: No, a GTX 670 is definitely not worth it for you, considering you already have a 660.
