Hi everyone,

I need help building my first gaming PC my budget is 2000-2500, I don't have any clue how to do it but I've watched videos on Youtube and other sites. I'm pretty good at building stuff so hopefully it will be pretty straight forward. I will have all my money compiled after May. It will only be used for Gaming nothing else, I also don't really care about how the exterior looks as long as it performs well. I was also wondering if there are any sites out their that will check parts compatibility for you.

Thank you for all your help

You want to run an I5 CPU then you need an 1155 socket MOBO to go with it. It's never a bad idea to get a PSU that has more power than you need, and a nice 750w unit is pretty much all you'll ever need. Then a 7970 GHZ edition GPU.

Than a case, CPU cooler, RAM, I don't want to hand pick everything out for you right away, just the important things.

Thanks bro
I'm building this specifically for Rome 2, I don't know about overclocking but would I need it for playing it?

Thanks

You won't have any need to OC, I don't even know what Rome 2 is but the parts I listed you will handle just about anything. Unless that game is some monstrosity from god in terms of the amout of overhead it uses.

Rome 2 Total War, check it out if you have any interest in strategy/war games or like ancient history. When I pick my other parts do i have to worry about them working with the ones you've suggested? Thanks for all your help I appreciate it

The only parts that could not work together really is the CPU, Motherboard, and the RAM. You'll want an 1155 socket motherboard, the cpu i linked is also 1155, and the RAM you need DDR3. Speed doesn't matter but you'll want 1333MHz or 1600MHx, it's the best speed for the price is what that comes down too.

You do actually have to watch for compatible heat sinks too, any good heat sink will be compatible on a number of sockets so it's not really a problem. I would buy a Cooler Master 212 EVO and be like everyone else.
