It's a standalone home desktop. Had a major issue a few month ago, only 600mb left, seemed strange. So I dumped all music and photos to a portable disc and did a clean-up. I got back some 75gig, about right. Then last week after a period of strang error messages, I replaced the power unit with a similar one. I let it run overnight, power unit fine and all seemd well, but when I tried to open, it didn't wnt to play. I tried to do a system restore, then two issues arose, first the only day available was that day 24th April, not only that there is less than 200mb left. Today, having done disc cleaner, cc cleaner and restart, It doesn't want to play at all. Now I'm stuck.

You can use disk cleanup to remove all but the last restore point. Also, try windirstat. it will show you your large files and folders.

have you got a second pc you can put the drive in

if not that is ok would just save some time as she is going to be a bit slow I would think

As it is now not opening normally, i'm going to have to do wherever I need to in safemode I would imagine. I have a laptop which I don't want to swap the drive into and an OLD ps2, but I think that the cpu would blow sky high on that.
