Hi Everyone. This is my first post and I hope I have come to the right place.

It looks like the little MediaSmart server finally died and I'm going to have to build something new. I want to be able to do the following:

  • Rip and store movies and music
Stream media to multiple devices (laptops, iPad, iPhone, android devices, etc)
    Automatically back-up computers
    iTunes?
Stream to DLNA devices (PS3, Sonos)
    Access remotely
    Quiet with a small footprint

Box – NZXT H2
Processor – AMD Phenom II X6 1045T
Motherboard - ASUS M5A97 R2.0 AM3+ AMD 970 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard with UEFI BIOS
SSD - Ultra Plus SDSSDHP-064G-G2 64GB SATA 6.0Gb/s Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
HDD – Already have
Power supply – Silencer Mk III Series 600 Watt ATX Modular Power Supply
Memory - HyperX blu 8GB DDR3-1600 (PC3-12800) CL9 Dual Channel Desktop Memory Kit (Two 4GB Memory Modules)

Is there anything else I need for the hardware?

OS – Windows 8 or Windows Home Server or other? (just needs to be simple to manage and stable)
Software – ??

I'm planning doing this over the next couple of weeks. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
