Cpu not locking into motherboard

Pulled out CPU with heatsink(Latch down), now cpu doesn't lock back into Motherboard? There was a couple bent pins that i adjusted back to normal, but the cpu doesn't lock into place when the lever is pushed back down. Is this most likely a broken Mb?

I have a asus m4a motherboard
Am3-amd phenom2 x6
-what other specs are needed for a diagnostic,?

Could be, man. I don't like the way AMD's lock in for that reason, personally. You're sure you fixed the pins?

If you have the latch up and place it in, the latch doesn't go down? Sounds like the mechanism might've broke when you ripped out the CPU.

When I put the latch down it doesn't seem to lock I can just tilt the pc over and the CPU would fall right out..the latch goes down and snaps but the CPU is still loose and falls right out if u move it.
